This is the first post in my new new section about art in the house. If you have something to share too, like a unique piece that you own and would like to talk about, please write in to stovetopdancing@gmail.com.
How often do you see beautifully crafted, arty stuff for the kitchen that's useful too? Stuff that you'd use everyday - measuring spoons, cups, hooks and more.
I just came across Beehive Kitchenware, started a decade ago by Sandra and Jim. Being a sucker for beautiful stuff in the kitchen, I almost had to wipe my drool off the keyboard while surfing through their site. Little birdies are a significant part of their design theme, nestled atop measuring spoons and handcrafted on baby cups.
And on these hooks. Sigh.
And this extremely desirable coffee spoon. Yum.
These cheese markers just stole my heart. Even though I probably can't tell Cheddar from Gouda. But hey, on another note, that's why they're so perfect for me!
Who wouldn't want to flip their pancakes with this supercute spatula?
Slightly expensive (they are handcrafted, after all) these lovelies are mostly cast in lead free pewter and aluminum. Complete with mounting hardware, they also come in gift boxes, making them perfect as wedding and housewarming presents.
