Bakefest Dubai 2011

Have you heard of Wild Peeta? Besides, having crazily good gourmet shawarmas, these guys have an awesome thing for community bakers - an annual Bakefest! The first, and till now the only one that I've heard of in Dubai.

I thought participating would be a good way to spring back into baking after my long postpartum break and I'm so glad I did. Met some lovely people, and some awesome bloggers. Like AWWWHHHSOME. Like people who totally, completely, radically rock.

Like Abigail and Rajani. Oh, and Sidiqa and Yasmin. Oh, oh and Arva, Anja, Nick, Sally and Devina. So many people for Little Stovetop to look up to and say "I wanna be you when I grow up."

Oh well, right now she looks up to (and at) everything, the ceiling being her favourite. But I live in hope.

That's all of us wondering when people will actually start buying out stuff. By the way, don't you just love the art on the wall?

Toffee Princess was there too!  Though she was away when this picture was taken, so I got the ladies next to her. They had some stunning packaging for their cookies.

And these were Abigail's cupcakes, right next to Rajani's spread.

What did I make? Mascarpone brownies baked in mini cupcake tins and a chocolate chip marble cake from one of my favourite bloggers, Shauna. And by the way, she's on her way from being the fab blogger to a fab author of a fab, fab book!

What a lovely day it was. Wish I had more pictures to share, but sadly before we knew it, the day was over and all the deliciousness was devoured. The bloggers mentioned above will soon have rad pictures to share, so keep track of those!

  2. First of all, congratulations on the little one! Welcome to the jungle. :) I just saw your comment, but didn't see an email. I've been having some techy issues of all sorts though. If you want to try again, maybe shauna (at) shaunasever (dot) com? Thanks, girl!

  3. Your mascarpone brownies were chocoliciously fabulous! For some reason, I distinctly remember bringing a pack of 3 back home, and it's mysteriously whittled down to 1...I have a chocolate thief around somewhere.
